We collect information you provide directly to us and information generated automatically when you use our platform.

Account & Profile Information

• Full name, email address, and phone number (required to create an account)
• Profile photo (optional — requires camera or photo library access on mobile)
• Role on the platform: farmer/supplier, buyer, or logistics provider

Business Information

• Business name, type, and description
• Bank account details for payouts (stored securely; used only to process withdrawals)
• Location of farm or warehouse (for marketplace listings and logistics matching)

Transaction Data

• Orders placed, listings created, and inquiries sent
• Payment amounts and transaction history (processed by Paystack; we do not store full card details)
• Delivery and logistics records

Device & Usage Data

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• Push notification tokens (to deliver order and inquiry alerts)
• Crash reports and error logs (used to fix bugs)
• Pages viewed and features used within the app

Communications

• Messages sent through the in-app messaging system
• SMS notifications sent to your phone number via our provider (Termii)

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Connect buyers with suppliers and logistics providers
• Process payments and withdrawals
• Send transaction notifications via push notification and SMS
• Display your listings and profile to other users
• Respond to your support requests
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or policy violations
• Improve the platform based on usage patterns and crash reports
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

With Other Users (as part of the marketplace)

• Your public profile, listings, and business name are visible to other AgriLink users
• Your phone number may be shared with a matched logistics provider or buyer to facilitate a confirmed transaction

With Service Providers

• Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure
• Paystack — payment processing (subject to their own privacy policy)
• Termii — SMS notification delivery
• Expo / EAS — mobile app delivery and over-the-air updates

These providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

The AgriLink mobile app requests the following device permissions:

• Camera — to take a profile photo. Only accessed when you initiate this action.
• Photo Library — to upload an existing photo as your profile picture. Only accessed when you initiate this action.
• Push Notifications — to alert you about new orders, inquiries, and delivery updates. You can disable these in your device settings at any time.
• Microphone (Android) — used for in-app voice features. Only accessed when you initiate a voice action.

We do not access your camera, photos, or microphone in the background.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Passwords are never stored in plain text
• Bank and payment details are handled through PCI-compliant providers
• Access to production databases is restricted to authorised personnel

No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at contact@aagrilink.com.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:

• Your profile and listings are removed from public view immediately
• Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to comply with financial regulations
• Anonymised usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytics

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — update inaccurate or incomplete information via your profile settings
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and personal data
• Portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format
• Opt-out of notifications — disable push notifications in your device settings or SMS alerts in your account settings

AgriLink is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account on our platform, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you via email or an in-app notice if the changes are material. Continued use of AgriLink after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
